1. What SecureNeighbour is

SecureNeighbour is an information and community-reporting tool for people researching an area before they move, rent or buy. It brings together publicly available crime and area information, resident-submitted reports, and links to other organisations.

We are not an emergency service, a police force, a surveyor, a conveyancer, a mortgage adviser or an insurer. Nothing on this site is legal, financial, safety or property advice. In an emergency always call 999; for non-emergencies in the UK call 101.

2. Third-party services and websites — our disclaimer

SecureNeighbour links to and displays material from other companies and organisations. These include police and government data sources, mapping providers, postcode and geocoding services, payment processors, email delivery providers, neighbourhood and crime-prevention organisations, and businesses that advertise or are listed in our local service directory.

We do not own, operate or control those services. We are not responsible or liable for their content, availability, accuracy, pricing, data handling, conduct, workmanship, or for their terms and conditions, privacy policies or any contract you enter into with them.

A link, listing or advertisement on SecureNeighbour is not an endorsement, recommendation, accreditation or guarantee of that company or service.

When you leave SecureNeighbour or engage a third party, you do so under that company's terms — not ours. Any dispute, refund, complaint, warranty, claim or cancellation is between you and that company directly.

3. Please check the other company's terms and conditions

Before you use, buy from, book, share information with, or rely on any third-party service you find through SecureNeighbour, read that company's own terms and conditions, privacy policy and cancellation or refund policy.

Check what they will do with your personal data, what they charge and when, whether they are registered, insured or accredited for the work, and what happens if something goes wrong. If anything is unclear, ask them in writing before you commit.

Data we surface from public sources (for example police recorded-crime data) is published under that provider's own licence and update schedule. It can be incomplete, delayed, aggregated or restated, and should be checked against the original source before you make a decision.

4. Advertisers and the local service directory

Businesses that appear as advertisers or directory listings supply their own details. We do not vet, verify, licence-check or supervise them, and we are not a party to any agreement you make with them.

Advertisers are responsible for the accuracy and legality of their own content and for their own terms and conditions with customers.

5. Community reports

Incident reports are submitted by members of the public and are unverified. They reflect a reporter's perception, not a confirmed or charged offence. Do not treat them as fact, and do not use them to identify or accuse individuals.

Report anything you believe is a crime to the police, not only to SecureNeighbour.

6. Payments and subscriptions

Premium subscriptions are billed through our payment provider under their terms. Card details are handled by that provider and are never stored by SecureNeighbour.

You can cancel at any time; access continues to the end of the paid period unless the payment provider's or applicable consumer-law rules say otherwise.

7. Your responsibilities

Use SecureNeighbour lawfully and respectfully. Do not submit false, malicious, defamatory or personally identifying content about named individuals, and do not use the site to harass, profile or discriminate against any person or community.

You are responsible for your own decisions about where to live, who to hire and what to buy.

8. Your acknowledgement

By using SecureNeighbour you acknowledge and agree that SecureNeighbour is not responsible or liable for any other company, or for any service, product, content or data provided by another company, and is not a party to and does not adopt that company's terms and conditions.

You acknowledge that it is your responsibility to check and read the terms and conditions, privacy policy and any other agreement of any other company or service before you use it, share information with it, or pay for it.

You acknowledge that any contract, dispute, complaint, refund or claim relating to another company's service is between you and that company, and that SecureNeighbour's role is limited to surfacing information and links.
